#SICT.- The Mexican Space Agency (AEM), an agency of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT), and the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEMéx), are calling for young people to be trained in the first satellite support program for agricultural productivity (Precision Agriculture) of its kind in the history of the country.

The AEM informed that registration is now open to train the first generation of the «Advanced Diploma in Precision Agriculture», an advanced program recently approved by the University Council of the UAEMex, in support of the priority task of food security of the population.

Studies of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) explain that «Precision Agriculture» contributes to food security by increasing agricultural production, so the Diploma will provide knowledge and geotechnological tools of last generation, for the process of planning, administration, management and evaluation of agricultural resources.

This Advanced Diploma, which will include activities at the AEM’s Regional Space Development Center in the State of Mexico, will train a new type of professional in this type of science applied to agriculture, in a pilot program that, it is hoped, will be able to share its knowledge and noble social objective throughout the territory, in the medium and long term.
